Studio Lakeville to Sponsor February 16 Spin-A-Thon to Support HYSB Scholarship for Graduating Seniors
ACCEPTING SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS NOW!
If you’re looking for motivation to get to the gym, join us at 2:00 p.m. on February 16 at Studio Lakeville to get your body in gear while you contribute to a new HYSB scholarship for graduating high school seniors.
If you’re a high school senior with plans to continue your education after graduation, apply now for an HYSB scholarship.
Spin-A-Thon
Studio Lakeville is generously sponsoring a guided spin to help HYSB raise funds to support its new scholarship for Housatonic Valley Regional High School seniors who will continue their education after graduation. Fifteen spin bikes will be dedicated to the 90-minute event. You can ride alone or – even better – organize a team that splits the time on a spin bike and helps HYSB increase contributions to its scholarship fund. Find a sponsor who will match the number of minutes you or your team rides with a contribution of 25 cents per minute or more!
The registration fee is $25 per person. Please register by February 8 via Eventbrite by clicking the register now button below.
So, if your New Year’s resolution was to get fit in 2019, participate in the February 16 Spin-A-Thon and have the added satisfaction of helping a graduating high school senior finance their continued commitment to education.
HYSB Scholarship
With high school graduation on the horizon, Housatonic Valley Regional High School seniors are bound to be thinking about their futures. HYSB is pleased to offer a $1000 scholarship to a 2019 HVRHS graduate who will continue their education after high school. Students who plan to attend professional development programs, take classes toward an Associates Degree or enroll in a four-year college are all eligible.
The HYSB Scholarship will recognize students who have distinguished themselves in many quiet ways. You might work a part-time job and get outstanding reviews from your supervisors. You volunteer after school or on weekends with community organizations. You succeed at school, sports, the arts or work in the face of personal or family challenges. You have demonstrated leadership and are respected by your teachers and peers.
If some of this or something similar describes you, we encourage you to apply for a 2019 HYSB scholarship now. Please write a 1-2 page essay describing your high school life and the aspects of your daily activities about which you are most proud. Please share your post-graduation education plans and include a short recommendation from a teacher, coach, supervisor or member of the community. Please share this information with any HVRHS senior who might be interested.
Applications are due on Monday, March 25, 2019 and should be emailed to lcollins@hysbct.org. If you have any questions, please contact Laurie Collins at 860-824-4720.
