HYSB is very excited to announce the appointment of Kelly B. Parker as its new Executive Director. Parker brings more than 12 years of experience in youth development and education, crisis intervention, and non-profit management and development to the position. She is passionate about the need to make mental health services easily available to young people and their families, especially in these uncertain times, and values collaborative approaches that engage area schools, other mental health service providers, and HYSB volunteers and donors. Her multi-faceted experience and expertise will serve HYSB well as it continues to meet the mental health needs of youth and families in the Northwest Corner.

Parker comes to HYSB from a position as Assistant Director of Advancement at the Housatonic Valley Association in Cornwall Bridge where she coordinated all major fundraising, managed grant solicitations, and maintained an impressive website and a proactive social media presence. Her previous positions at the Women’s Center of Greater Danbury and Women’s Support Services in Sharon provided invaluable experience in crisis intervention, and a deep understanding of domestic abuse and its devastating impacts on victims and their families. Parker worked directly with young people as 4-H Youth Development Resource Educator at Cornell Cooperative Extension in Millbrook, NY, creating and implementing programs for more than 500 youth, their parents, and hundreds of volunteers. She has a Master of Public Administration degree from Marist College, and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Elementary Education and Women’s Studies, with a minor in psychology.

HYSB is grateful to its clinicians and staff who have provided services to our clients throughout the pandemic, and stepped into various roles during the search for a new director.
