Stay out of the rough at HYSB’s Annual Golf Tournament on August 19 at the Torrington Country Club and help the children and families of the NW Corner through the rough spots in their lives.
Fall Fest 5K
This fall favorite run, previously known as the Bearcat 5K, is now the Saturday kick-off event at the Salisbury Fall Festival held annually over the Columbus Day weekend. The run along the scenic Rail Trail starts and ends at the famous Salisbury Ski Jumps. It provides an opportunity for community members and visitors to compete or take a jog through the beautiful Salisbury countryside. Cross the finish line, take a deep breath and then enjoy a day of delicious food and activities for adults and kids alike at the festival.
Charity Golf Tournament
For over 20 years, HYSB’s annual golf tournament has been the organization’s largest fundraiser. Held at Torrington Country Club, an otherwise private course, this day has become a late-summer community favorite. The tournament is made possible by community businesses and individuals who generously support the day through various levels of sponsorships. In additional to the 18-hole course, there are raffles, putting contests, a silent auction and various games and prizes throughout the day.
Donald T. Warner Community Service Award
Almost every year since 1996, HYSB has presented the prestigious Donald T. Warner Community Service Award to a local resident who has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to children and families. Donald T. Warner was a founding member of HYSB’s Board of Directors and epitomized the dedication to community service recognized by the annual award. The award is presented at a community celebration that highlights the invaluable contributions of the year’s award recipient and the generosity of so many in our community.
